Win a Ticket to Burning Man 2012
For the second year in a row, tickets for Burning Man 2012 have sold out. Burning Man is doing what it can to redistribute tickets but some people who want to attend will have to find other ways to participate.
Meanwhile, I can help one person two people get to the event. This site hosts a contest to win a 2 tickets. The rules are simple:
How to Enter
- Create a video showing how you’re embodying this year’s theme – fertility – in your local community or in the world at large.
- Upload the video to youtube, google video, vimeo, or any other video hosting site that you find easy to use
- Post about it on this blog and embed it so that it can be watched (create an account)
How to Win
- Any visitor to this site can vote for his or her favorite post. At the end of the contest, the post with the most votes wins. One vote per reader, please.
- Voting ends August 4th, 2012, at around 4pm Pacific Time.
Fine Print
There are several ways to get your entry tossed out. They are:
- Submit an entry that you’ve repurposed from some other contest or project. Take five minutes and create a fresh video for this effort.
- Submit an entry that’s not appropriate for all age groups; yes, sexual content is allowed, but porn is not welcome here. As Justice Potter Stewart said, “I know it when I see it”.
- Submit an entry that’s out of sync with Burning Man’s 10 Principles. Yes, this rule is designed to give me plenty of room to toss an entry because… well… it just doesn’t meet with the spirit of the contest.
Super-Fine Print
- If you would like proof that this contest is legitimate, please register with the site and then contact me. I’m happy to prove my credentials.
- I’m not going to use your contact information in a bad way. I’m not going to sell your contact information to someone or something else. I’d like to maybe eventually do something with the videos, but if I do, I’ll ask your explicit permission to do so. I’m not personally profiting from this project (in fact I’m spending a few bucks out of my pocket on site registration and web hosting).
- The winner will have to figure out his or her own Burning Man experience.
- The winner can use this ticket or regift it, but please don’t resell it.
What is the deadline for posting entries?
You can submit entries right up until the contest is over… since voting is involved, the earlier the better.
